PCATS Announces “Building the Business Case Seminar” for 2009 Annual Conference

ALEXANDRIA, VA – September 24, 2008 The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced today that Cliff Earl, of Resource Management Systems, will lead a full day seminar on Building a Successful Business Case at the 2009 PCATS Annual Conference.  

Susan Hilaski, PCATS Director of Implementation, stated, “This seminar will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, and is part of the business track in the expanded program of the Annual Conference this year.”  She added that, “This seminar will follow full day seminar on Monday, January 26th, on PCI Compliance Planning and is intended to supplement the work in that seminar.” 

Mr. Earl spoke at the 2008 NACStech Conference and his workshop was highly rated.  Here are some of the comments made by attendees at that workshop: “Very practical,” “Concrete example of how best to present a business case,” “Great insight on how to persuade a non-technical person,” “Very knowledgeable about the topic.”Clifford Earl is an experienced business, operations and project manager. His formal education is in business administration (U) and telecommunications technology (G). He served on the faculty of New York University’s Information Technologies Institute where he developed and taught a course entitled “B2B e-Commerce, Value-Chain Integration.” Cliff is also the author of a number of books on IT investment decision support techniques.

The 2009 PCATS Annual Conference will be held the week of January 26, 2009, at The Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida.  The Florida Hotel and Conference Center is located at 1500 Sand Lake Road -- just minutes from Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios and is adjacent to the Florida Mall – the largest shopping mall in Central Florida with over 250 shops.

PCATS Announces Expanded Program for 2009 Annual Conference 

The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced today that its 2009 Annual Conference will be held the week of January 26, 2009, at The Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, FL.

In making the announcement, Jenny Bullard, CIO of Flash Foods and PCATS Chair stated, “We are excited about the expanded program we will have this coming year. In the past, we have concentrated on doing standards work and committee meetings. In 2009, we will have a business track in addition to the standards track.” She added that, “We have designed the business track specifically with retailer attendees in mind. There will be two days of “deep dive” seminars covering such subjects as PCI Compliance Planning, Making the Business Case, and Bare Bones Project Management. Additional details will be available soon.” She concluded by stating that, “All retailers and suppliers to the industry regardless of membership status in PCATS are invited to attend.”
